I’m Laura. I’m a 30 year old Australian (with a slightly British accent) I love travelling, I’m absolutely in my element when there’s a good wine and cheese platter at hand, I’m a little bit adventurous but my exploratory view of life is probably at its best (or safest) when behind a camera :-) and I have adopted as my own the philosophy of the great genius Ansel Adams who believed that “You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved” – It’s about LIFE after all, what makes us laugh, inspires our creativity, and joins us together.
Weddings provide a beautiful stage to freeze-frame life into personal and real moments, but these have to be revered, not manipulated. I am a self confessed ‘natural’ photographer, I love truth in images and take a behind-the-scenes approach, capturing the little moments as well as the big and letting the day tell whatever story it will through my lens.
Part of this life mandate is to extend a hand to those around us, so the extension of my photography love extends to financially support the work of FreeToBeKids, a not-for-profit organisation that works to rescue children from exploitative circumstances. www.freetobekids.org
